Bendl Jan Jiří

Early Baroque sculptor and woodcarver of German origin working in Prague. He was a significant sculptor in Prague after Thirty Years’ War. His works set the direction of the Czech Baroque sculpture. Bendl drew from ancient art and his works are very realistic and show a strong competence of motion depicting.
